Job Description

Position Summary:

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs for a manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives a culture of safety, and supports continuous improvement initiatives that protect employees, the environment, and company assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation and job-specific safety requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage any inspections or inquiries.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and occupational illnesses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Partner with operations leadership to integrate EHS considerations into daily plant activities and long-term planning.
  • Oversee environmental programs such as waste management, air emissions, stormwater, and spill prevention.
  • Track and analyze EHS metrics, reporting trends and recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and equipment readiness.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through employee engagement, recognition programs, and proactive communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (advanced degree or professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred).
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and training facilitation abilities.
  • Proven track record of driving safety culture improvements and achieving measurable results.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Work Environment:

This position requires regular presence on the production floor and occasional travel for training, audits, or corporate meetings.
