Grant Compliance Specialist - Dallas City Attorney’s Office
The Dallas City Attorney’s Office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to fill a full-time position as a grant compliance specialist.
This position oversees the grants for the City Attorney’s Office and ensures departmental compliance with all grant terms and city, state, and federal regulations. This position requires drafting grant proposals and coordinating with representatives of funding sources to apply for grant term extensions, grant agreements, or budget adjustments. This position also requires intermediate-level administrative support skills in accounts payable/receivable, procurement, travel coordination, record keeping, and reporting. Additional duties include monthly tracking and reconciliation of expenditures and budget forecasting, maintaining records and files for grant expenditures in preparation for annual audits, and assisting with grant documents for applications, monitoring, and reporting. Other duties may also be assigned.
The successful candidate will have prior work experience in managing federal and state grant funds, monitoring program budgets, writing grant proposals, and drafting performance reports.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to promote positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is also required. Prior experience navigating and using the city’s financial management system (Advantage) to prepare financial documents, procuring goods and services, and processing invoices is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, accounting, non-profit management, business administration, or related field is required.
Salary is commensurate with experience. The City's comprehensive benefits package comes with the position. This position is exempt from the provisions applicable to civil service, pursuant to Chapter XVI, Section 9 of the Dallas City Charter.
