Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an entry level MEP Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a a background in design principles of MEP systems in the construction industry. This role involves a good background in the construction industry, commercial and residential HVAC and plumbing design principles. The individual is expected to work under the supervision of senior engineers to develop design drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Draft MEP Designs in AutoCAD / AutoCAD MEP as directed by the senior engineers.
  • Perform site visits and existing condition surveys.
  • Interact with clients as needed to complete the design work.
  • Participate in continuing education seminars, and courses designed for career advancement.
  • Follow project scheduling to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Utilize software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit for advanced design tasks.
  • A good level of computer literacy is required to perform this job.
  • Maintain knowledge of building codes in NJ and NY.
  • Assist with construction administration, RFI responses and submittal reviews.
  • Travel to and from job sites with basic measurement tools as required to monitor project construction progress when needed and to survey existing conditions < 20% of the time.

Skills

  • Proficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD software is essential for the satisfactory performance of this job.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural engineering or a closely related filed.
  • 1 Year of experience in the MEP field and Construction industry.
  • 1 Year of experience as a minimum using AutoCAD.
  • A Valid Driver's license and a a personal vehicle, and the ability to drive to and from various job sites in NJ and the NYC Metro Area <20% of the time.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
