Polysomnographic Technologist

Under general supervision of Department Leadership including Lead RPSGT the Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist is responsible for scoring sleep studies and operation of the daily clinic activities such as home sleep studies, overnight oximetry’s, MSLT day studies, mask fittings, pressure change, etc. The technologist must have a thorough understanding of all of monitored parameters which are utilized in the computer scoring and preparation of polysomnographic reports. Ability to institute life saving measures is required.

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in the Health Sciences preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3- 5 years prior experience employed as a registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist
  • Experience at a AASM Accredited Sleep Center and Clinic preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • RPSGT or RRT-SDS
  • CCSH preferred or planned to acquire within 2 years
  • Maintains continuing education units as required by the BRPT
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all Polysomnography equipment.
  • Knowledge of infection control.
  • Demonstrated safe, knowledgeable practice skills at all times based on theory and consistent with Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.

Pay Range: $24.98 - $36.93

Sign-on hiring agreement bonus: $5,000
