💼 Your Role:

As Controller, you'll serve as the financial backbone of the business — managing day-to-day accounting functions while helping shape the company’s long-term strategy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the full scope of accounting operations: GL, AP/AR, billing, month-end close, job costing, and financial reporting
  • Monitoring cash flow, supporting budgeting, and driving insights through accurate and timely reporting
  • Mentoring and developing accounting staff with an eye on efficiency and career growth
  • Collaborating with operations, estimating, and project management teams to align financials with project execution
  • Supporting ERP system improvement (Vista Viewpoint knowledge a plus)
  • Helping the leadership team make data-driven decisions to support ongoing growth and operational excellence

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA or Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years leading a team
  • Background in construction, landscaping, or project or service-based industries strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of job costing, project billing, and financial controls
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
  • Collaborative leader who brings structure, professionalism, and a positive attitude to the team
  • Strong understanding of the financial needs of seasonal and multi-crew operations typical in landscaping/construction
